Within a company in growth mode and supported by an investment fund, you will work as a Director of Accounting, a newly created position, with an excellent VP Finance who is very attentive, invested in the company and who wants to take her teams to another level. As the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting process for the head office and the company's subsidiaries and at the same time will be involved in several strategic files. You will manage a team of 5 people, including the controller of the Canada division and the controller of the Mexico division. In addition, you will monitor the governance and controls in place, the monthly consolidation of the company and the conversion of the financial statements of the American and Mexican subsidiaries into Canadian dollars. You will also be responsible for all financial statements and the annual audit as well as the company's taxation. As a change agent, you will be responsible for improving the efficiency of the finance department via Power BI and the optimization of ERP modules and also have an impact on other departments of the company. In addition, you will be responsible for managing cash flow, preparing bank reports, managing inter-company transfer pricing and preparing the various analysis reports requested by senior management, as well as collaborating with the FP&A manager that we have placed in the budget process. You will also be responsible for strengthening internal controls and ensuring their reliability. To this end, you will manage the accounting team, oversee the hiring, onboarding, integration, evaluation, training and resource development activities.
You will have a real opportunity to have a strategic vision at the tax level and to fully lead the audit files with a large firm. In your role, you will quickly make connections on multiple issues and see the impact on the organization as a whole.
Bilingual and versatile CPA, with a minimum of 10 years of experience including, ideally, in an audit firm combined with 5 years as a Controller in a multi-site/multi-currency context. We are looking for an ambitious candidate who will be able to progress quickly internally; a team player, expert in strategy who is able to monitor tax, accounting and financial matters and who always thinks in terms of improving profitability. The candidate must be hands-on and multidisciplinary, able to manage multiple projects, to invest in order to have an impact on operations and results by positively influencing the teams. The Director of Accounting we are looking for is dynamic, rigorous, organized, has leadership skills and is motivated to grow as a business partner in an international company in acquisition mode. He/she will be able to support the company's growth vision and will have the ability to develop and promote teamwork to achieve results. Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and Excel is desired.
