Our client, a rapidly growing technology company in the advanced manufacturing sector backed by a North American venture capital fund, is seeking a Financial Controller to join its team. Globally recognized for its innovative solutions, the organization operates in a dynamic environment focused on the future and international expansion. You will report directly to the CFO, who leads with a coaching style and values transparency. Far from a micro-manager, the CFO offers autonomy and visibility. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and have an entrepreneurial mindset, this is an ideal opportunity to accelerate your career. The company offers a stimulating work environment, a collaborative culture, and strong growth potential. The role is offered in a hybrid format.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for all accounting operations for the company and its subsidiaries in the United States and Portugal. You will oversee payroll, accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP and Canadian standards), internal controls, and established procedures.
You will assess current accounting processes, recommend improvements, and ensure tax and regulatory compliance in Canada and internationally. You will manage year-end financial activities and coordinate with external auditors, all while leading your team with clarity and strong leadership.
You will contribute to the preparation of financial statements, budget planning, variance analysis, and the development of performance indicators. Additionally, you will support operations with financial impact, review contracts, and oversee insurance renewals, all in the context of international growth.
This is a great opportunity to leverage your expertise in a stimulating, agile, and forward-thinking environment.
Bilingual CPA with a minimum of 4 years of experience, ideally in the manufacturing sector. You stand out for your sharp sense of organization, planning, and prioritization, and are recognized for your strong analytical and synthesis skills. With your ability to develop efficient management systems, you bring tangible added value to every project.
Skilled in interpersonal communication, you excel at simplifying complex information and are comfortable presenting to an audience. You have a proven talent for setting clear goals and performance indicators that guide teams toward excellence. Your collaborative approach and leadership in team management enable you to rally talent around organizational objectives.
You have strong proficiency with IT tools and information technologies, and are comfortable working with ERP systems—making you a key candidate for this role.
