Our client, a fast-growing Canadian company in the distribution sector, is seeking a Controller to take charge of financial management and support its strategic growth. With an innovative and high-quality product, this company values passion, excellence, and a strong human culture. You will report directly to a kind, motivational CEO who acts as a coach to the team. The position is offered fully remote.
As Controller, you will play a key role in the preparation and monitoring of financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. Your responsibilities will include overseeing accounting and tax processes, managing cash flow, performing bank reconciliations, overseeing customer collections, and monitoring supplier payments.
You will be responsible for producing monthly financial reports on time and will actively contribute to the development of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and performance analysis. You'll also help identify budget variances and implement corrective measures as needed.
Special attention will be given to defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making. Optimizing the management information systems, including the ERP, will be a key part of your role to improve operational efficiency.
In collaboration with other departments, you will ensure accurate inventory control, the reliability of financial data, and compliance with budgetary processes. Finally, you will act as the main point of contact for external auditors and administrative bodies.
We are looking for a bilingual CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate is autonomous and demonstrates a strong sense of initiative, capable of handling a wide range of responsibilities with rigor and sound judgment. Curious and versatile, this person will be deeply involved in financial operations while acting as a true business partner to the CEO, with the ability to anticipate challenges and bring strategic insight.
Creative and analytically sharp, they must be able to identify financial risks and reassess existing processes when needed. Strong organizational and methodological skills are essential, along with the ability to ask the right questions and ensure the reliability of deliverables. A strong personality will also be an asset when interacting with demanding stakeholders.
