Our client, a profitable, fast-growing SME via acquisitions in the distribution and sale of pharmaceutical products, is looking for an Assistant Controller to manage the growth of the organization. You will be reporting to a controller that Cielo knows very well having placed her and who reports to the CFO that we have placed in the past as well. The CFO is very friendly, always keeps her door open, and is a strong advocate of autonomy. The controller is very strong in continuous improvement, system implementation and building a foundation to manage growth. The company offers a pleasant work environment and many benefits. The position is currently offered in hybrid mode. Your challenge: to participate in the structuring of the company by implementing processes, building an efficient team and participating in the implementation of a new ERP accounting system.
As an Assistant Controller, you will produce the group's financial statements as well as the reports required by banking institutions and investors. You will implement and maintain effective internal controls and develop processes to increase efficiency. The company is growing through acquisitions, so you will be involved in post-acquisition integrations. Also, you will participate in the production of budgets and forecasts, as well as the variance analysis process. You will oversee the day-to-day activities of the operational accounting (internal and 3PL) and potentially other staff, given the rapid growth of the company. Moreover, you will be responsible for coordinating balance sheet reviews, annual audit with a large accounting firm and government audits. In addition, you will oversee the preparation of partner reports such as additional transfers or volume based discounts and profit sharing agreements. You will work as a business partner with other teams to facilitate work and better understand the business model. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in system implementation. Finally, you will perform all other related tasks in partnership with the CFO and the Controller.

Bilingual candidate, with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position, with an excellent knwoledge of Excel and an excellent understanding of the complete accounting and financial cycle of a company. This person must have strong team management skills and also have experience in process review and continuous improvement. Experience in ERP system implementation is also desired. We are looking for an autonomous and resourceful candidate who will be able to structure an organization to support rapid growth and who has a facility with IT. The candidate must be rigorous, dynamic and have a sense of responsibility. They will bring solutions with a positive attitude and be in continuous improvement mode. A CPA designation is a definite asset.
