The Canadian division of a beautiful and fast moving company in the food industry is looking for a Controller to join their dynamic team. You will report directly to a highly valued CFO who is the opposite of a micro-manager. She is very trusting of her teams and enjoys helping them. The company has a lot of potential and is in excellent financial health and in acquisition mode. The team members are entrepreneurial and very dynamic. The position is partially offered remotely.



As the Controller, you will be responsible for accounting/finance, income/commodity tax, payroll, IT and business administration functions as well as all accounting, financial reporting and operational data analysis activities. You will also implement and ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures, be responsible for overseeing intercompany effects and consolidate financial results at month end. Moreover, you will manage the preparation and presentation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts, provide support in creating bridges/waterfalls/comparative analysis as well as review and approve payroll on a weekly basis and provide guidance to the HR team. You will also be responsible to review balance sheet reconciliations for all entities upon month-end and ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the information. You will create new and maintain existing financial models to analyze the sales & monitor KPIs, review costing framework, provide support in establishing Bill of Materials, and conduct cost variance analysis. Finally, you will be responsible to create new and maintain existing models on establishing standard cost for Labor and Overhead, to support ERP Implementation, to perform ESG reporting as well as to engage and support external audit activities.

Bilingual CPA (or pending) with at least 5 years of experience in a SME, who has good IT and KPI skills and will be comfortable with Excel and Power BI (great assets). The candidate should have strengths with KPIs, be very comfortable with operations as well as change management. We are looking for a person who wants to propel his or her career and who has the desire to get involved and contribute to the success of a great entrepreneurial company. This person must be able to manage a team. Experience in a public company is an asset.
