Our client, a growing SME in the construction sector, is looking for a Project Controller. You will report to a VP who is very involved in the process. This is a great opportunity to work in a human and family business and to contribute to its growth by being part of the restructuring of its accounting and finance department. The position is partially offered remotely.


As a Project & Costs Controller, you will establish the various budgets required to complete a project based on estimates and deduct the appropriate provisions and reserves for each project. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying cost items at risk of overruns, establishing procedures and recommendations in the event of observed problems, monitoring budgetary changes for the various projects in progress, and regularly calculating the costs already incurred in the project and verifying their contractual compliance. Also, you will estimate the remaining expenses inherent to each project, explain the differences between the planned and actual costs in coordination with the project managers and translate the contractual modifications occurring during the projects. You will also be responsible for proposing corrective actions in case of budget overruns and for identifying future costs that were not foreseen and not included in the budgets. You will also perform monthly reporting on the costs of each project. Finally, you will perform any other related tasks.


Candidate with a bachelor's degree in engineering or administration, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including experience in the construction industry. We are looking for someone with experience in project costs who has the drive to be able to structure the project management department. This person will need to be able to do pivot tables in Excel. The ideal candidate is responsible, has a good sense of responsibility and strong analytical and communication skills. A CPA designation and bilingualism are assets.
