We have an opportunity for you to work as a Service Director – Accounting and Treasury in a nonprofit organization operating in the services sector. You will report to a results-oriented manager who is supportive, available, and who promotes autonomy. As the Service Director – Accounting and Treasury, you will oversee all activities related to financial accounting, cash management, internal controls, and regulatory reporting within an environment governed by specific governmental and institutional requirements. You will ensure the reliability, integrity, and compliance of financial operations, in accordance with applicable accounting standards, Canadian and Quebec tax laws, as well as rules specific to higher education institutions and funding agencies.

You will supervise the preparation of financial statements and reports for government bodies and financial institutions, and act as the primary contact for external auditors. You will advise management on strategic financial matters, including tuition fees, investment decisions, liquidity management, and certain financial agreements.

You will also play an active role in governance, participating in committees related to employee benefits and retirement plans, and representing the organization to stakeolders when required.

Finally, you will lead and guide a team of finance professionals, ensuring effective prioritization, skills development, and continuous improvement of processes and controls in a context where cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Profile

Bilingual CPA with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or financial management, with strong expertise in financial accounting. We are looking for a candidate with experience in both public practice and industry, bringing a comprehensive and complementary perspective on financial environments. Significant experience as a CA or auditor would be an asset, providing real added value to the role. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in process improvement and will be expected to work within a team that is well-versed in existing processes, actively contributing to their optimization and modernization. This profile seeks a candidate with a strategic vision who is dynamic, motivated, and focused on driving change and delivering results.
