Description

Are you comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly transforming environment and ready to move beyond pure reporting to become a true business partner, capable of making a tangible and lasting impact?

Our client is a Quebec-based manufacturing company operating across North America. A private organization undergoing significant operational and digital transformation, with multiple production sites in Canada and the United States and sustained growth through recent acquisitions, they are creating a Plant Controller role to embed a hands-on finance function at the heart of operations. The environment is dynamic, innovative, and results-oriented, with strong exposure to operational decision-making. The position is offered in a hybrid format.

As Plant Controller, you will act as the financial reference for operations, primarily within a large manufacturing facility. You will optimize standard costs and profitability analyses, monitor inventories, WIP, and production variances, and track KPIs. You will participate in month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting, and support operational decisions related to investments, efficiency, and margins. You will also develop analytical tools (Excel / Power BI) and work closely with production, maintenance, HR, planning, and plant management.

Your role will also include contributing to plant transformation projects, including automation and the deployment of SAP S/4HANA, to modernize processes and enhance efficiency. You will have the opportunity to initiate projects and propose concrete solutions that will have a direct impact on operational and financial performance.

Profile

Bilingual, personable CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong expertise in cost calculation, margin analysis, and KPI tracking. You are comfortable with ERP systems—SAP is a major asset—and have advanced Excel skills, with Power BI being a plus. Your experience allows you to quickly understand operational challenges on the shop floor and become a trusted partner for production teams and management.

You are proactive, solution-oriented, and able to turn financial data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. You enjoy working on the floor and engaging directly with operations while maintaining a broader view of financial performance. Your hands-on approach and ability to collaborate across departments enable you to drive continuous improvement initiatives and positively influence the growth and modernization of the plant.
