Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join one of Quebec’s largest independent professional services firms, recognized for its people-first approach, collaborative culture, and commitment to innovation, as a Director of Finance (Consultant). As part of the continued growth and evolution of the Finance function, the organization is seeking a finance leader who will play a key role within the team. You will report directly to the Vice President, Finance, a leader known for his collaborative management style, accessibility, and the trust he places in his team. You will thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives and make a meaningful difference. This position is offered on a hybrid work model.

In this consulting mandate, you will play a critical role in structuring and operationalizing the Finance function. Working closely with senior management, you will lead key finance transformation initiatives aimed at building robust, sustainable, and scalable processes. This is a unique opportunity to build the Finance function from the ground up and make a lasting impact on the organization.

You will be responsible for redesigning and implementing the entire financial close process, establishing a rigorous, reliable, and repeatable month-end close. You will also participate in redesigning the chart of accounts, implementing bank reconciliation processes, standardizing accounting entries, and strengthening the controls surrounding the financial close cycle.

You will also play a central role in optimizing the Sage Intacct environment. Following an incomplete implementation, you will help properly configure the system, correct existing processes, and ensure that the ERP effectively supports the organization's operational and financial reporting needs.

Working alongside the Controller, who will remain responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, you will focus on designing and implementing finance processes, internal controls, and best practices to build a more structured and mature Finance function. You will document procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and establish a sustainable financial operating framework for the organization.

This mandate represents an outstanding opportunity for a finance professional recognized for their autonomy, ability to build processes from the ground up, and expertise in finance transformation and process improvement. You will have significant autonomy to establish the foundations of the Finance function and leave a lasting impact on the organization.

Profile

We are seeking a bilingual CPA with a minimum of 12 years of experience in accounting and process improvement, recognized for the ability to thrive in high-growth and transformation-driven environments. Comfortable working in situations where everything needs to be built from the ground up, you are able to make sound accounting decisions, work autonomously, and establish sustainable financial structures aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of delivering successful transformation initiatives and tangible business results. You have the expertise and leadership to build and structure a finance function within a rapidly evolving organization.
