Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Quebec-based company in the food industry as an FP&A Analyst. The organization is recognized for its entrepreneurial mindset, agility, and continuous focus on improving its processes and systems. You will report to the FP&A Manager, a leader known for her people-first approach, strong performance orientation, and commitment to employee development. Having been with the organization for several years, she has an in-depth understanding of the business and is looking for a true right-hand partner to support the company's performance management efforts. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance professional looking to grow within a high-growth organization, develop a strong understanding of business operations and financial instruments, and contribute to digital transformation, automation, and the continuous improvement of FP&A processes. This position is offered on a hybrid work model.

In this role, you will act as a Finance Business Partner, working closely with the Commercial, Operations, Trading, and Finance teams to support business performance analysis and strategic decision-making. You will develop a thorough understanding of the company's business model, transaction flows, derivative instruments, and the key drivers impacting P&L, margins, and overall business performance.

During your first six months, a significant portion of your time will be dedicated to gaining an in-depth understanding of the business and supporting the Commercial team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze accounting impacts, physical and financial positions, inventories, contracts, and hedging activities. This hands-on experience will enable you to develop a strong understanding of purchase and sales basis, margin fluctuations, pricing, transportation costs, foreign exchange impacts, and execution costs.

At the same time, you will play an active role in the Finance team's digital transformation initiatives. You will contribute to process automation, FP&A optimization projects, and the development of performance dashboards using Power BI and artificial intelligence tools. You will also extract, validate, and analyze data through SQL queries while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and traceability of financial information.

As your understanding of the business grows, your responsibilities will progressively evolve toward a more analytical and strategic role. You will analyze profitability by product, customer, origin, destination, and reporting period while partnering with the Trading team to improve financial reporting, interpret business performance, and identify key performance drivers and variances.

Finally, you will act as a super user for the implementation and enhancement of financial systems while contributing to process documentation and end-user training.

This position provides exceptional exposure to commercial operations, financial performance management, derivative instruments, digital transformation initiatives, and the continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, and analytical processes.

Profile

Bilingual FP&A professional with approximately five years of experience, recognized for strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to quickly understand business drivers and operational challenges. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools, with solid SQL skills considered a strong asset. You thrive in a data-driven environment focused on continuous improvement, digital transformation, and financial performance.

Autonomous, collaborative, and an excellent communicator, you act as a true business partner to Commercial and Operations teams. This position offers outstanding career growth opportunities, whether toward a more strategic FP&A role, people management, or involvement in high-impact transformation initiatives, depending on your interests and career aspirations.
