Details

Description

We are offering you the opportunity to take on the role of Director, Corporate Accounting within a well-established company in the distribution sector, currently experiencing strong growth through acquisitions. In this evolving environment, you will report to the Corporate Controller, recognized for her people-oriented and results-driven leadership style. As the organization is undergoing a phase of renewal, several key initiatives are underway, providing a dynamic and evolving environment. This is a hybrid position.

 

As Director, Corporate Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities of the Group and its corporate entities, including bookkeeping and accounts payable, while leading and developing the team to ensure operational efficiency and rigor.

 

You will review account reconciliations and ensure the reliability, accuracy, and integrity of financial information.

 

You will lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, both at the entity and consolidated levels, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and governance requirements.

 

You will establish and document consolidation processes within a complex multi-entity environment, and prepare consolidated financial statements as well as quarterly management reports, including performance analysis and variance explanations.

 

The role also includes reviewing the financial results of the various business units and producing management reports to monitor the Group’s overall performance. You will actively contribute to year-end close activities and collaborate with auditors and key stakeholders.

 

Finally, you will coordinate audits, tax compliance, and sales taxes, contribute to tax provision and budgeting processes, and support process optimization initiatives as well as financial integration activities related to acquisitions.

Profile

Bilingual CPA with 8 years of experience in financial accounting, including consolidation, internal controls, and corporate taxation. Industry experience is required; prior experience in public accounting, ideally with a Big Four firm, is considered an asset.

 

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong expertise in IFRS and ASPE, as well as Canadian corporate taxation and indirect taxes. You possess advanced Excel skills, a high level of rigor, and strong analytical capabilities. Proven experience in team management and employee engagment is essential.
