Description

As Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of all financial information across the organization. You will lead accounting activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, while managing the accounting team and ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives.

 

You will be responsible for coordinating and producing financial reports, as well as managing the full monthly close process. You will analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior periods to identify variances and support decision-making. You will also ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including oversight of accounts receivable and accounts payable.

 

You will actively contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts, as well as the delivery of ad hoc reporting and analysis to support management needs. You will ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulatory and tax requirements, maintaining the integrity of processes and deliverables.

 

In this role, you will participate in defining and implementing departmental goals, policies, and procedures. You will also support audits in collaboration with the corporate team, while providing concrete recommendations to drive continuous improvement of financial processes.

 

Finally, you will be responsible for coordinating, controlling, and reconciling physical inventory counts, as well as producing related reports. You will thrive in a collaborative environment where your ability to interact with various departments and affiliated entities will be key to your success.

Profile

Bilingual CPA with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, ideally including experience in public accounting and exposure to the manufacturing sector. Prior team management experience is considered a strong asset. You have a solid command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, general ledger accounting, cost accounting, and internal controls.

 

You are comfortable working with ERP systems (Epicor is an asset) and have a good understanding of regulatory requirements at the local, provincial, and federal levels. With strong analytical skills, you are able to interpret complex financial data and produce clear and meaningful reports, financial statements, and forecasts.

 

Organized and detail-oriented, you are able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Recognized for your leadership, you can motivate teams to deliver high-quality results. You also stand out for your strong communication skills and your ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, while maintaining flexibility in your schedule as needed.
