We are offering you the opportunity to join a well-established, leading Canadian financial institution as a Senior Consultant, FP&A Analyst. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role within the finance team and contribute directly to financial performance analysis and strategic decision-making. You will operate in a complex and dynamic environment where the quality of financial analysis, the rigor of financial models, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations will be central to your contribution.
A significant portion of your role will focus on financial modeling. You will be responsible for building, reviewing, and optimizing various models used to assess financial performance and support business decisions. You will also critically review existing models and analyses to identify errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement, while ensuring the reliability of underlying assumptions and reported results.
You will actively participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial projection processes. You will conduct profitability and performance analyses and assess the key drivers impacting financial results, including Net Interest Income (NII) and Net Interest Margin (NIM). You will also evaluate the impact of allocated capital, Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA), and Return on Equity (ROE) to develop a thorough understanding of the factors influencing the organization’s profitability.
As part of your analyses, you will work with large volumes of financial data from multiple sources. You will use Smart View to extract, reconcile, and analyze the information required to produce reliable financial models and analyses. Your ability to challenge the data and quickly identify variances or inconsistencies will directly contribute to the quality and reliability of the financial information used across the organization.
Beyond recurring activities, you will actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of FP&A processes. You will develop new tools and analyses, enhance existing models, and participate in various initiatives aimed at making financial planning and analysis processes more efficient, structured, and relevant to business partners.
You will work closely with various teams to translate your analyses into strategic recommendations that support decision-making. You will also prepare analyses and presentations for senior management, clearly communicating complex financial information and highlighting key findings, risks, and opportunities.
Finally, you will operate in an environment where multiple analyses and priorities must be managed simultaneously. Your autonomy, rigor, sound judgment, and ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders will enable you to make a tangible contribution to improving financial performance and advancing the FP&A function.
Fully bilingual French-English professional with more than 10 years of FP&A experience, ideally gained within the banking or financial services sector. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of key financial performance drivers, including NII, Net Interest Margin, ROE, allocated capital, and RWA.
Recognized for strong analytical skills and financial modeling expertise, the candidate is experienced in building, reviewing, and optimizing complex financial models, as well as preparing budgets, forecasts, and profitability analyses. Advanced Excel skills are required, along with a strong ability to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement. Knowledge of Smart View and Essbase is considered a strong asset.
Autonomous and hands-on, the candidate is comfortable managing complex analyses with minimal supervision while handling multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong business judgment enables them to translate financial insights into strategic recommendations and contribute to the continuous improvement of FP&A tools and processes.
Finally, the candidate possesses excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial analyses and prepare executive-level presentations for senior management.
