You will report to the President, a leader who values a participative management style and maintains an open-door approach. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA looking to grow within an entrepreneurial and international environment while leading a team and making a tangible contribution to the effectiveness of the finance function. The position is offered in a hybrid work model.

As Financial Controller, you will play a key role within the finance team and will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting activities. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of financial information, compliance with applicable tax requirements, and the effectiveness of processes and internal controls. You will also supervise the accounting team and ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day financial operations.

You will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and payroll. You will provide leadership and guidance to the team while ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard. You will act as a key resource for your team in resolving accounting issues and maintaining rigorous and efficient practices.

A significant portion of your role will focus on the month-end close process and the production of financial information. You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and various management reports within required timelines. You will ensure the validity, integrity, and accuracy of financial data and perform the necessary follow-ups when discrepancies or issues are identified.

You will also oversee the organization’s various tax compliance matters and ensure that applicable requirements are met. At year-end, you will be responsible for preparing the audit files and coordinating with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and respond to information requests.

You will also play an active role in the continued evolution of the organization’s accounting practices. You will be responsible for accounting policies and procedures and will contribute to strengthening internal controls and improving processes to enhance operational efficiency and the reliability of financial information. You will also participate in budget preparation and financial performance monitoring to support Finance leadership in managing and evaluating the organization’s performance.

Your responsibilities will also include managing certain corporate matters, including the renewal of corporate and credit insurance policies. You will oversee consumer claims submitted to insurers and coordinate the required follow-up with the relevant stakeholders.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking a well-rounded role combining financial accounting, team leadership, compliance, internal controls, and process improvement. You will gain broad exposure to the organization’s financial activities and work closely with Finance leadership to ensure the rigor and efficiency of the accounting function.

Recognized for your leadership, autonomy, and organizational skills, you demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
