As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in the planning, monitoring, and analysis of the financial performance of a portfolio of projects and various business lines. You will work in a project-driven environment where understanding different project methodologies, margins, and revenue recognition principles will be essential. Working closely with operational teams and project managers, you will ensure rigorous monitoring of financial results and actively contribute to decision-making.
A significant portion of your role will focus on budgeting and financial forecasting for both operations and G&A expenses. You will be responsible for forecasting a portfolio of projects and opportunities with varying cost structures, margins, and revenue recognition methods. You will analyze actual results against forecasts, identify variances and financial risks, and provide recommendations to improve performance and the predictability of financial results.
You will also participate in month-end activities, financial reporting, and monthly project reviews. You will prepare and analyze various reports covering areas such as G&A expenses, headcount, internal project costs, capital expenditures, and cash flows. You will also contribute to profitability analyses, asset monitoring, and the preparation of dashboards and presentations for senior management.
CAPEX will also represent an important component of the role. You will monitor capital investments, perform variance analyses, and collaborate with various teams to understand spending trends and the financial impact of projects. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes, tracking tools, and financial models to make financial information clearer, more efficient, and more relevant for both operational teams and management.
This role requires strong FP&A experience in a project-driven environment, along with an excellent understanding of the financial mechanics surrounding budgets, forecasts, margins, and revenue recognition. Bilingual candidate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial analysis. We are looking for someone with strong FP&A experience, particularly in budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Experience within a project-based organization is essential, ideally in engineering, construction, technology, or professional services. You should also have a solid understanding of contract management, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
You have advanced Excel skills, are comfortable working with ERP systems, and possess strong analytical capabilities. Detail-oriented and business-minded, you are able to translate complex financial information into clear insights and collaborate effectively with operational teams and senior management. A CPA or CFA designation, as well as experience with D365 and Adaptive, would be considered assets.
