As an Accounting Analyst, you will play a key role within the Finance team by contributing to the reliability of financial information, data integrity, and the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes. In a fast-growing environment, you will collaborate with multiple departments and act as a business partner to support operations, strengthen financial practices, and contribute to the continued evolution of the Finance function.

 

You will actively participate in the analysis of monthly financial results by identifying and explaining key variances, trends, and unusual items. You will prepare recurring and ad hoc financial analyses for management to support decision-making and identify risks and opportunities to improve performance.

 

You will also be responsible for various balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses, ensuring the proper follow-up and resolution of outstanding items. You will contribute to month-end close activities and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data to maintain the quality and reliability of the organization’s financial information.

 

A significant portion of your role will focus on improving and optimizing accounting and financial processes. You will participate in the implementation and documentation of processes while identifying opportunities to automate recurring tasks and improve team efficiency. You will also contribute to the implementation of new financial tools and technologies, as well as various digital transformation initiatives within the Finance department.

 

You will participate in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s internal controls and financial best practices. You will help identify areas of risk and implement processes designed to strengthen the quality and reliability of financial information.

 

Finally, you will support the preparation of documentation required for external audits and participate in various compliance and financial risk management initiatives. You will contribute to ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures while playing an active role in building a more efficient, automated, and continuous improvement-driven Finance function.

Profile

Accounting professional with three to five years of relevant experience, holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting, as well as a CPA designation or currently in the process of obtaining it. Experience in a multi-entity, high-growth, or transformational environment is considered an asset.

 

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial management practices. Recognized for their analytical skills and sound judgment, they are able to interpret financial information to identify variances, trends, and key issues, while recommending practical solutions to improve processes and the quality of financial information.

 

Tech-savvy and comfortable working with financial systems, the candidate has advanced Excel skills and a good knowledge of data analytics and automation tools such as Power Query, Power BI, or equivalent solutions. They also have experience working with an ERP or accounting software; knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Dext, or other cloud-based financial solutions is considered an asset.

 

Detail-oriented, autonomous, and proactive, the candidate has excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills enable them to clearly communicate financial information and work effectively with various stakeholders in a dynamic environment where continuous improvement, automation, and transformation play an important role.
