Description

We are offering you the opportunity to join a fast-growing Quebec-based firm specializing in the management and delivery of complex service-related projects as a Director of Finance. Recognized for its expertise, collaborative approach, and entrepreneurial spirit, the organization operates in a dynamic environment where innovation and continuous improvement are highly valued. You will report directly to the company's President, a hands-on and demanding leader who is highly engaged with his team. He is looking for a true business partner who can support his strategic thinking, provide practical recommendations, and actively contribute to the organization's continued growth and development. You will have the opportunity to play a key role in the company's expansion, participate in strategic initiatives, and help shape the evolution of its financial tools and processes. The position is offered on a hybrid work model.

As Director of Finance, you will serve as a trusted business partner to both senior management and operational teams by overseeing the organization's accounting and financial activities. You will play a central role in the production of financial information and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives, performance analysis, and the development of management tools.

You will be responsible for preparing the company's financial statements while ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and overall quality of financial information. You will participate in the month-end close process, perform financial analyses, develop forecasts, and closely monitor the organization's financial performance.

You will also contribute to the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards designed to provide greater visibility into operations and support decision-making. Leveraging your understanding of operational challenges, you will analyze project profitability and support managers in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing action plans.

In parallel, you will play an active role in the implementation of a new ERP system and contribute significantly to the optimization of financial processes. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to facilitate the adoption of new practices, improve data quality, and enhance operational efficiency.

Over time, the role will evolve to include a stronger strategic finance component, representing approximately 20% to 25% of the position. In this capacity, you will participate in strategic planning, financial scenario analysis, and the development of initiatives aimed at supporting growth, profitability, and long-term value creation.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for a professional seeking to combine traditional finance responsibilities with close involvement in operations and an increasingly strategic role within the organization.

Profile

As a bilingual CPA, you have six to nine years of relevant experience, ideally within a professional services firm or an organization focused on project profitability. You have developed strong expertise in financial analysis, work-in-progress (WIP) management, KPI development, process improvement, and ERP implementation.

With a strong business partnering mindset, you are eager to play an active role in performance analysis and in supporting operational leaders. Recognized for your leadership, consultative approach, and results-oriented mindset, you are comfortable influencing decisions, challenging the status quo, and developing value-added solutions.

Thanks to your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you quickly establish strong working relationships with project managers and other key stakeholders across the organization.
