Description

Are you looking to join a well-established Québec-based organization in the service sector, recognized for its expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, and commitment to excellence? This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a growing organization known for its innovative culture and continuous drive to improve its operations. You will report directly to the CFO, a leader recognized for his collaborative leadership style, people-first approach, and strong commitment to developing talent. Approachable and open-minded, he fosters an environment where ideas are shared, collaboration is encouraged, and team members are empowered to contribute to key business decisions. This role is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is looking to thrive in a technology-driven transformation environment, contribute to impactful initiatives, and play a meaningful role in shaping the organization's strategic direction. The position is offered on a hybrid work model.

As the Accounting Director, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the organization's accounting and financial operations while serving as a trusted business partner to the CFO and cross-functional leadership teams. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, oversee the full accounting cycle for approximately twenty legal entities, and ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and month-end close deadlines.

Beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the transformation of the finance function. You will lead initiatives focused on process optimization and standardization, systems implementation, financial automation, and continuous improvement of accounting practices. You will also play an important role in integration projects and in reducing the month-end close timeline to improve overall organizational efficiency.

You will oversee the annual audit process, manage relationships with external auditors, and ensure compliance with all accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements. While the consolidation process is relatively straightforward, you will be responsible for managing a significant volume of intercompany transactions and ensuring the integrity of the organization's financial results.

As a collaborative and people-focused leader, you will coach, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals while fostering a structured, high-performing, and collaborative work environment. You will serve as the team's subject matter expert for both technical accounting and operational matters, while supporting their ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.

Finally, you will contribute to strategic initiatives related to cost management, organizational profitability, and the continued evolution of the finance function. Over the longer term, you will also have the opportunity to help strengthen the organization's in-house tax capabilities, increasing internal expertise and reducing reliance on external advisors.

Profile

As a bilingual CPA with 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting and finance within multi-entity organizations, you bring strong expertise in financial accounting, internal controls, and compliance. You act as a trusted business partner by ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial information while driving process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Technologically proficient, you possess advanced Excel skills, strong Power BI capabilities, and experience with leading ERP systems. Experience with Sage 300 is considered an asset.

Recognized for your leadership, analytical mindset, and ability to synthesize complex information, you bring proven experience in leading and developing accounting teams. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you are able to influence stakeholders, foster collaboration across the organization, and build strong business partnerships that support the company's strategic objectives.
