Description

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a leading Québec-based manufacturing company recognized as one of the North American leaders in its industry. The organization combines the stability of a well-established business with the scale of a company operating across North America, while continuing to invest in innovation and operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will work alongside an approachable, humble leader who values autonomy, initiative, and collaboration. He is looking for a true right-hand partner to grow with, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help shape the future of the finance function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected Québec manufacturing company where innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the core of the corporate culture. This position is offered in a hybrid work environment.

As the Financial Controller, you will play a key role within the finance function by ensuring the integrity of financial information, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous process improvements. You will be responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements, performing financial analyses, and monitoring the company's financial performance. You will actively participate in variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and the validation of financial data to support informed business decisions.

You will also contribute to the development of decision-support tools by designing and enhancing financial models, management dashboards, and reporting solutions. In addition, you will participate in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and the development of analytical tools aimed at improving the organization's overall performance.

The role includes significant responsibilities related to internal controls and compliance. You will help establish, document, and enhance the internal control framework to ensure strong financial governance. You will also ensure compliance with provincial, federal, and U.S. tax and regulatory requirements while serving as the primary contact for external auditors during the annual audit process.

From an operational perspective, you will oversee the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring the efficiency of credit, collections, and billing processes. You will also support the accounting team with day-to-day activities, financial close processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Operations, Sales, Logistics, Marketing, and Research & Development, you will help ensure the integrity of financial information while supporting the organization's broader business objectives.

Beyond the traditional financial responsibilities, you will be involved in a variety of strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, optimizing working capital, and reducing costs. You will also support the company's growth initiatives, including new product launches and the expansion of operations across Canada and North America.

This position offers significant flexibility to evolve based on the successful candidate's interests and strengths. Individuals who wish to become more involved in business transformation projects, Power BI dashboard development, or the enhancement of management reporting tools will have the opportunity to progressively shape their role in those areas. Furthermore, the continued growth of the organization is expected to create opportunities to expand the team under your leadership, providing excellent long-term career development prospects.

Profile

We are seeking a bilingual CPA with 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting standards and tax regulations, along with the ability to produce reliable financial information and support informed business decision-making. Proficient in ERP systems and Excel, you actively contribute to process improvements and the optimization of financial tools.

Recognized for your leadership skills, the successful candidate is able to motivate and develop a team while building strong relationships with business partners across the organization. You possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a results-oriented mindset, enabling you to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You are comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across Canada and internationally and combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
