Description

Our client, a well-established North American manufacturing leader recognized for its advanced technology and expertise within its industry, is currently seeking a Tax Advisor. Reporting directly to the Director of Taxation, an excellent people-oriented leader with a strong results-driven approach, you will evolve within a dynamic and committed team known for its collaborative mindset and passion for challenges. Several exciting projects await you in a fast-paced and transforming environment. This opportunity offers a high-impact role with excellent visibility across the organization. The position is offered onsite.

As a Tax Advisor, you will play a key role in managing the tax compliance and tax operations of the organization’s Canadian and U.S. activities. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual income tax provisions as well as corporate tax returns for the group’s entities.

You will also prepare various tax information returns, including T106 and T1134 forms, along with consolidated forecasts related to tax expenses, cash taxes paid, and effective tax rates in support of internal and external financial reporting requirements.

As part of your responsibilities, you will collaborate with external auditors regarding year-end tax provisions and ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. sales tax requirements. You will also participate in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation for Canada, the United States, and Mexico in collaboration with external advisors.

You will contribute to documenting tax positions, accounting treatments, internal controls, and tax policies and procedures across the organization. In addition, you will participate in the improvement and automation of tax processes to help optimize operations.

You will also collaborate with various internal teams on strategic projects, tax audits, and the identification of tax incentives in Canada and the United States, while preparing technical memorandums related to significant transactions and the company’s tax positions.

Profile

Bilingual CPA (or in the process of obtaining the designation) with solid experience in corporate taxation, including tax compliance, U.S. taxation, and transfer pricing, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and demonstrate a strong understanding of national and international tax regulations. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role is required.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, enabling them to interpret complex tax matters and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Recognized for your tenacity, resourcefulness, and ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment, you thrive on challenges and are motivated by problem-solving and continuous improvement rather than highly structured environments.

We are seeking an autonomous, proactive, and action-oriented individual capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of rigor and attention to detail. The successful candidate will also stand out for their strong sense of priorities, resilience, and ability to thoroughly analyze issues in order to fully understand the organization’s business and tax challenges.

Possessing excellent communication and collaboration skills, you are comfortable explaining complex tax concepts to various stakeholders and working closely with both internal and external teams. Strong knowledge of tax software and financial analysis tools, including TaxPrep and CCH Axcess Tax, is considered a strong asset for this role.
