Our client, a fast-growing technology company in the advanced manufacturing space, backed by a North American venture capital fund, is seeking a Financial Controller to join its team. Globally recognized for its innovative solutions, the organization operates in a dynamic, forward-looking environment with a strong focus on international expansion.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will also work closely with the CFO, who adopts a coaching leadership style and values transparency and visibility—far from a micromanager. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and have an entrepreneurial mindset, this is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career. The company offers a stimulating work environment, a collaborative culture, and strong growth potential. The position is offered in a hybrid work model.
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations for the company and its subsidiaries in the United States and Portugal. You will supervise payroll, accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable activities, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP and Canadian standards), internal controls, and established procedures.
You will assess current accounting processes, recommend improvements, and ensure tax and regulatory compliance both in Canada and internationally. You will lead year-end activities and coordinate with external auditors, while providing clear leadership and direction to your team.
You will also contribute to the preparation of financial statements, budget planning, variance analysis, and the implementation of key performance indicators. In addition, you will support financially impactful operations, including contract review and insurance renewals, within a context of international growth.
This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in a dynamic, agile, and forward-looking environment.
Bilingual CPA with a minimum of 7 years of experience, ideally within the manufacturing sector. You stand out for your strong sense of organization, planning, and prioritization, and are recognized for your solid analytical and synthesis skills. With your ability to implement effective management systems, you bring tangible value to every project.
Skilled in interpersonal communication, you are able to simplify complex information and are comfortable presenting to an audience. You also have a talent for defining clear objectives and establishing key performance indicators to guide teams toward excellence. Your collaborative approach and leadership in team management enable you to mobilize talent around organizational goals.
You demonstrate strong proficiency with IT tools and information systems, and are comfortable working with ERP systems, making you a key candidate for this role.
