We have an opportunity for you to join as an Accounting Manager in a dynamic company that is responsive to the market, competitors, and market analysis. You will report to a manager who is approachable, flexible, and trusting—quite the opposite of a micro-manager. This position is offered in a hybrid work arrangement.
As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational accounting, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and monthly closings, in coordination with shared financial service centers. You will prepare and validate local financial statements for Canadian and U.S. entities while contributing to consolidated reporting. You will analyze complex transactions and propose appropriate accounting treatments in accordance with standards, including matters related to foreign exchange, joint ventures, and long-term project-based accounting under IFRS 15.
You will manage statutory and regulatory matters, coordinating activities related to holdings, complex payroll (benefits, perks, pensions), and intercompany transactions within a complex organizational environment. You will work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and the accuracy of financial information.
With a focus on continuous improvement, you will identify and implement initiatives to optimize accounting processes and system performance, including mastering and utilizing international tools such as CSP Line. You will lead and support the local accounting team, fostering skill development and engagement, while collaborating closely with other Finance teams in the region (FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Product Line Controlling) and representing the region on cross-functional committees at corporate headquarters.
Bilingual candidate with a minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, ideally gained in both a Big 4 firm and industry. You have a strong knowledge of IFRS and have previously held a Controller role, preferably within a complex or multinational organization.
