We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Quebec-based company recognized for its expertise in the retail and distribution sector as Vice President, Finance & Operations. You will report directly to the company’s President, a passionate, approachable, and people-oriented entrepreneur who values face-to-face communication, maintains close relationships with his teams, and places great importance on company culture. As Vice President, Finance & Operations, you will play a strategic, cross-functional role within the organization, combining financial leadership, administrative operations management, process optimization, and business development. As a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will actively contribute to strategic decision-making while ensuring financial performance, operational efficiency, and profitable growth. Your responsibilities will extend well beyond traditional finance, with direct involvement in improving systems, technology, and management practices.
You will oversee the company's financial performance, including sales, margins, profitability, and cost management. You will lead budgeting, financial forecasting, cost analysis, and pricing strategies. Particular emphasis will be placed on cash flow and working capital management, expense optimization, and foreign exchange management. You will also ensure strong financial controls, tax compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
You will manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and financing partners, including banks, Export Development Canada (EDC), and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). You will oversee compliance with banking covenants and lead financing and capitalization initiatives to support the company's development.
A significant portion of your role will focus on optimizing processes, systems, and technology. You will oversee ERP systems, information technology, management and reporting tools, as well as automation and artificial intelligence initiatives. Working closely with the Director of Operations, you will help improve organizational efficiency, data reliability, and execution speed.
You will also act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership and operational teams, supporting decision-making and identifying opportunities to improve performance. You will contribute to evaluating growth opportunities, including new licensing agreements, private-label accounts, and acquisitions, by assessing their profitability, associated risks, and strategic alignment.
Through your engaging and collaborative leadership style, you will strengthen teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement. You will foster a culture focused on performance and continuous improvement while implementing efficient, scalable processes without compromising the organization's agility and responsiveness.

As a CPA holding a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, you bring over 10 years of experience in finance and business management, ideally within the retail industry. An MBA is considered an asset. You have strong expertise in financial planning, cash flow management, financing, and cost analysis.
A strategic and pragmatic leader, you combine strong business acumen with a hands-on approach and a proven ability to execute. You are comfortable working with ERP systems, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence, and are passionate about optimizing processes and developing teams.
