Description

We are offering you the opportunity to join a well-established and growing Quebec-based manufacturing company that has built a strong presence across the North American market over the years as Manager, Internal Controls and Financial Processes. Recognized within its industry, the organization operates in a multi-site manufacturing environment and continues to grow by focusing on innovation, continuous improvement, and the evolution of its management practices.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will oversee the organization’s transactional finance activities and play a key role in strengthening the internal control framework, optimizing processes, and improving financial practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to make a tangible contribution to the company’s growth and financial performance while gaining strong exposure to senior management. The position is offered in a hybrid work model.

As Manager, Internal Controls and Financial Processes, you will play a key role in managing and advancing the organization’s finance operations. You will lead an operational accounting team and be responsible for strengthening its processes, controls, and overall efficiency. Your role will combine team leadership, financial expertise, close collaboration with Operations, and continuous improvement.

A key part of your mandate will be to strengthen the internal control environment. You will identify key financial and operational risks related to transactional processes, implement appropriate controls, and ensure proper follow-up on corrective actions. You will collaborate with external auditors and contribute to various compliance initiatives to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the reliability of financial information.

Process improvement and standardization will also represent an important component of your mandate. You will review key processes, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and financial close, to identify opportunities for simplification and automation. Within an SAP environment, you will help enhance systems and ways of working to reduce manual processes, strengthen controls, and improve the overall efficiency of the Finance function.

You will also oversee key transactional activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payments, and journal entries. You will ensure the quality and integrity of financial information and actively participate in the month-end and year-end close processes. Particular attention will be given to improving accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes, where several opportunities for automation and optimization have already been identified.

A significant portion of your role will also focus on cost accounting and inventory management. You will work closely with operational teams to understand manufacturing costs, ensure the reliability of costing information, and analyze key variances. You will contribute to inventory monitoring and develop analyses to provide greater insight into the plant’s financial and operational performance. You will also participate in budgeting and forecasting activities to better align financial results and expectations with operational realities.

Your role will require close collaboration with Operations and other functions across the organization. You will work with Procurement, Sales, and Information Technology teams to improve workflows and address issues at their source. You will also develop key performance indicators to monitor process effectiveness and turn financial and operational data into actionable insights to support decision-making.

As a manager, you will be responsible for developing, engaging, and growing your team. You will foster accountability and collaboration while introducing greater rigor and stronger best practices. This role represents an excellent opportunity to take ownership of an operational finance function with significant potential for further development and to make a tangible impact on the organization’s processes, systems, controls, and overall performance.

Profile

Bilingual professional with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and a minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, financial control, audit, internal controls, or financial process management. Experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as in managing or supervising a team, is preferred. A CPA designation is considered a strong asset.

You bring solid experience in implementing internal controls, managing risk, and standardizing financial processes. Comfortable working in a transforming environment, you have a strong focus on continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization. You have advanced Excel skills and a good understanding of ERP systems, ideally SAP.

An engaging leader with strong analytical skills, you know how to develop your team, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Rigorous and well organized, you possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively influence business partners across the organization.
