Our client, a leading private Canadian company in its sector with international operations, is seeking a Corporate Accounting Director to lead the accounting team and oversee all accounting functions of the company. You will report to a high-level VP of Finance we have placed in the organization. Proactive and caring, with excellent communication skills, he is known for being a great listener and an unparalleled coach.
The director will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, providing valuable information to support decision-making, and improving processes within the accounting department.
As a strategic business partner to the VP of Finance and leader of the accounting team, the director will ensure the excellence of consolidation and reporting activities, treasury, tax compliance, and the insurance program.
Beyond technical accounting and financial skills, the successful candidate will be an excellent manager capable of building their own team and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The director is a change agent who initiates, challenges, and continuously improves processes. The goal is to increase the quality and speed of financial reporting.

Dynamic CPA (ideally CPA, auditor), fully bilingual (English and French) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in similar roles involving the production of financial information and decision-making information, ideally in a mix of public, international, and entrepreneurial companies with strong accounting standards skills.
An effective communicator, the director will have excellent change management, continuous improvement, work organization, and team management and coaching skills. We are looking for a strategic profile who is also hands-on and will have a business partner approach to management.
