Description

Our client, a Quebec-based real estate division with a strong client portfolio, is seeking a Controller to join their dynamic team. Reporting directly to the President, you will have the opportunity to work in a financially stable company within a professional and energetic environment that offers excellent advancement opportunities. This position is on-site.

 

As a Controller, you will oversee the full accounting of residential, commercial, and industrial real estate portfolios, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of financial information. Responsibilities include managing rent billing, charge adjustments, and collections, as well as supervising accounts payable and receivable, including rents, maintenance fees, and taxes.

 

Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards allows you to provide management with reliable and relevant financial information. Managing cash flows and coordinating month-end closing activities ensures rigorous monitoring and effective control of financial operations.

 

You will also be responsible for employee payroll, including government remittances and monthly and annual reporting, while working closely with property managers to ensure optimal financial management. Preparing audit files for internal and external reviews and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory obligations are integral parts of your daily role.

Profile

CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles, ideally within the real estate sector. You understand operational realities on the ground while maintaining a strategic overview of financial matters. Payroll management and knowledge of applicable labor laws are part of your expertise, and you are comfortable with accounting software as well as the Microsoft Office suite. Your rigor, attention to detail, and strong financial analysis skills allow you to produce reliable and relevant information for decision-making.

 

Equipped with excellent communication and team management skills, you can effectively motivate and lead your colleagues. Your ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines ensures the quality and reliability of financial operations in a demanding environment.
