Description

Our client, a SME in the distribution sector is looking for a Controller to join their team. You will report to an understanding and warm manager who likes to take initiatives. She opts for a coaching style of management by giving latitude and autonomy. You will have the opportunity to get involved in a SME with a strong presence in its sector and to contribute to its growth by investing and implementing solutions. The position is partially offered remotely.

 

 


As a Controller, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the activities of the accounting department. You will manage all accounting operations, produce monthly financial statements and prepare the year-end file for the external auditors. In addition, you will ensure compliance with financial obligations, coordinate budgeting and financial forecasting, and establish financial and operational objectives, budgets and dashboards for monthly/annual reporting. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing accounting policies, practices and procedures in compliance with federal, state and local legal standards by staying current with existing, new and future laws. You will analyze/monitor variances between forecasted and actual objectives, make proposals for corrective actions if necessary, produce variance analyses of costs, margins, etc. and implement management and monitoring tools. In addition, you will implement performance indicators and interact with customers, suppliers, external auditors and a bank representative. Finally, you will supervise the team with dynamic leadership to create an environment of trust and productivity.

Profile

Bilingual candidate with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with good accounting and tax knowledge related to payroll and benefits as well as good financial and operational analysis skills. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Acomba is required. We are looking for a candidate with management and leadership skills, with a spirit of initiative, a great capacity to adapt and a good management of priorities. The candidate must be rigorous, organized and autonomous. Knowledge of the book industry and a CPA designation are great assets.
