Our client, a SME in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Controller to join their team. You will report to a dynamic president with a great vision and a lot of energy. He is concerned about the well-being of employees and is always open to suggestions. This is a great opportunity to work in a stable company that will eventually allow you to be part of the board of directors. The position is partially offered remotely.


As the Controller, you will be responsible for performing and reviewing month-end closings, preparing monthly financial statements and explaining budget variances. In addition, you will oversee accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable and payroll processing on the system, as well as ensuring that inventories are properly accounted for and valued in the financial system. You will also be responsible for cash management, the preparation of various tax reports and SR&ED credits as well as the production of various internal and external financial reports. Moreover, you will supervise the preparation of the external audit file and act as a resource person for the annual audit process. You will also be responsible for following up on the annual and triennial financial budgets, supporting managers in the implementation and follow-up of their budgets, and supporting managers in the research and implementation of funding and financial assistance projects. You will have a key role in the company as you will collaborate in the development of decision support tools and performance indicators in addition to ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies and implementing corrective measures when required. Finally, you will participate in the implementation project of the new accounting system and ensure its optimal management.


Bilingual CPA and/or CMA with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing SME, who knows the manufacturing processes and has experience in team management. The latter must also know how to put KPIs in place and be very structured. Experience in implementing accounting systems is an asset. We are looking for a structured, rigorous and organized candidate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible, results-oriented, autonomous and able to adapt to change as well as work under pressure.
