As an Assistant Controller, you will provide support to the Controller. You will be responsible for the production and communication of annual and monthly financial statements and management reports. This will include managing the monthly closing process by reviewing monthly financial statements and various analyses, validating the reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts and understanding the needs of the management team and producing internal financial management reports, including MD&A. Moreover, you will be responsible for the proper functioning of the accounts payable, inventory control, accounting and accounts receivable processes to support current and future operations. This will include participating in various special projects in collaboration with your team members and other departmental resources, developing internal financial policies and procedures in collaboration with the Human Resources team, and identifying any internal control weaknesses to implement corrective measures. Furthermore, you will coordinate all requests made to the IT team from the Finance team, keep records of all vacation and sick day requests as well as validate data entry and be in charge of relations with the insurer in partnership with the Controller. In addition, you will be responsible for various audits (annual, with the bank, etc.). This will include managing audits and requests from various external consultants (year-end, government and bank audits) and managing the preparation of the audit for the external auditors. Finally, you will supervise, train and develop the team.

Bilingual CPA with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a firm or in industry, with an excellent command of Excel. Experience in auditing and as an assistant controller are great assets. We are looking for a candidate who is very autonomous, resourceful and willing to manage a team. He/she is proactive and knows how to respect deadlines by prioritizing his/her tasks.
